About Us
In 1998, Eric Parsloe created The Oxford School of Coaching and Mentoring (OSC&M) which focussed solely on providing high quality, practical yet academically rigorous coaching and mentoring qualifications. Eric was one of the first protagonists of coaching and mentoring in the UK and was a founder member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) responsible for the creation of professional standards within the industry.
As the coaching and mentoring profession became more established, there was growing desire from organisations to develop internal coaching capacity and provide more generalist coaching and mentoring skills training for both leaders and the general management population.
To meet this demand, OSC&M started a sister company (The Oxford Total Learning Group) in 2003 that brought the qualification and training expertise of the OSC&M to organisations. This was followed in 2005 by the creation of the Oxford Coach Mentoring Channel (OCMC) which formalised both companies online products and services into a separate and distinct offering.
The three companies continued to grow in unison developing a market leading reputation for high quality qualifications and training interventions supported by cutting edge technology. As the market matured, the decision was taken to simplify the structure and re-brand the organisation so that it was fit for purpose to meet the challenges that lay ahead.
In February 2008, the three companies became one and The OCM was created, initially under the stewardship of Eric, but increasingly under the guidance of his son, Ed Parsloe, who was to take over the running of the business in the May 2009. Whilst still acting Chairman, Eric has now retired from the day to day running of the business and now continues his work with the EMCC as Honorary Vice President, as a member of their Advisory Board and as mentor to the Board.
