Mike White

Background and experience: Mike's early engineering and project management experience was gained with London Transport. This was followed by five years with the Road Transport Industry Training Board chiefly involved in encouraging training and development activities in the storage, haulage and retail motor industries.

As Head of Personnel and Training of Renault UK, Mike had responsibility for organisational, management and staff development, workforce planning and resourcing, compensation and benefits, employee communications and industrial relations.

Invited to work with The Government of Bermuda's Personnel Services Department, Mike launched their Employee Assistance Programme, implemented a management team building and training initiative and established a Health and Safety policy and organisation.

Returning to the UK as Managing Director of a specialist Human Resource Research and Attitude Survey Consultancy Mike led assignments with market leaders in the banking, food retail and distribution, motor and brewing industries.

Since founding his own human resource consultancy in 1990 Mike has advised and assisted many organisations on their journey towards the Investors in People National Standard.
He has worked with OSCM since 1997 and is currently Head of Faculty.

Coaching achievements: In his coaching and mentoring work Mike has contributed to the development of individuals, and in some cases teams, in a wide-range of businesses and organisations in the public, private and not for profit sector.
Mike has helped individuals to explore, understand and address a variety of organisational, operational and developmental issues and better equip themselves to meet the challenging needs being placed upon them. He approaches his work by encouraging individuals to explore and reflect and then couples this with his own insights into personal and organisational development.

He was a key player in establishing the CIPD Certificate and Advanced Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring and an active and experienced supervisor of coaches
