History - a timeline of achievement

  • 1995 - 'The Manager as Coach and Mentor' is published, written by Eric Parsloe.
  • 1998 - launched The Oxford School of Coaching and Mentoring (OSC&M).
  • 1998 to 2010 - we have produced over 2000 graduates from our various qualification programmes including those from all over Europe and Asia.
  • 1999 - 'Learning for Earning' is published, written by Eric Parsloe and Caroline Allen.
  • 2000 - we launched our 180 feedback benchmarking tool to measure the effectiveness of coaching and mentoring relationships.
  • 2000 - 'Coaching and Mentoring: practical methods to improve learning' is published, written by Eric Parsloe and Monika Wray.
  • 2002 - Eric Parsloe co-founds the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) to promote good practice in the profession.
  • 2003 - launched The Oxford Total Learning Group (OTLG), the corporate sister company of OSC&M.
  • 2003 - we started a strategic partnership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) to run their coaching and mentoring qualifications. To date this partnership has produced almost a 1000 graduates.
  • 2003 - we were one of the first organisations to gain both academic and professional accreditation for our coaching and mentoring qualification programmes.
  • 2005 - we won a preferred supplier relationship with AVIVA that continues to this day.
  • 2005 - launched The Oxford Coach Mentoring Channel (OCMC), an e-commerce business selling streamed video and audio content and measurement tools.
  • 2005, 2006 and 2007 - we won the Business Britain Executive Education Solutions Provider of the Year Award.
  • 2007 - we launched our Online Portal, a delivery system for streamed content and measurement tools providing organisations with an online platform to promote and embed coach-mentoring behaviours.
  • 2008 - restructured and rebranded OSC&M, OTLG and OCMC to become one, The OCM.
  • 2008 - launched our Accreditation of Prior Experience and Learning (APEL) qualification programme.
  • 2009 - we launched 'The CoachVine', a unique professional networking platform to promote networking, CPD and supervision amongst coaches and mentors.
  • 2009 - 'Coaching and Mentoring: practical conversations to improve learning' 2nd edition, is published, written by Eric Parsloe and Melville Leedham.
  • 2009 - Eric Parsloe retires to become Chairman, Ed Parsloe takes over as MD of The OCM.
  • 2010 – new management team in place including Charlotte Bruce-Foulds and Diane Newell.
  • 2011 – formed a strategic partnership Methodus D.O.O to deliver qualifications in Croatia and surrounding region.
  • 2012 – one of the first organisations to receive the European Supervision Quality Award (ESQA) accreditation from the EMCC for our Certificate in Organisational Coach-mentoring Supervision.
