Team Coaching
In building High Performing Teams we base our approach on the research and methodologies of Jon Katzenbach and Douglas Smith as outlined in The Wisdom of Teams. They found that that the benefits of true teams for performance are clear, even at leadership levels where teams can be difficult to sustain, and that a focus on performance is more important in creating and sustaining teams than any investment in ‘team work’. Thus when working with teams we focus our coaching around the disciplines needed to create High Performing teams:
- shaping common purpose,
- agreeing on performance goals,
- defining a common working approach,
- developing complementary skills, and
- holding themselves mutually accountable for results.
