“I’m really enjoying the programme and have already recommended it to a couple of my colleagues. I’ve been particularly impressed by The OCM’s online portfolio. I’ve worked with a number of apprenticeship providers over the years and this is one of the best I’ve seen.  It’s easy to navigate and breaks the learning down in to manageable tasks, allowing me to organise my learning around work. My manager has also commented on how structured and well organised the resources are.”

How we work with you

Engaging with you in advance of starting the apprenticeship is crucial to ensure the coaches we develop can effectively support your employees, deliver the desired impact for your organisation and create a fantastic learning experience for the apprentices. Feedback and dialogue are vital to this process. To support this, each client is provided with an Account Manager who, alongside being the main point of contact for your internal stakeholder, starts every client engagement by exploring your coaching strategy to ensure that it is correctly aligned to meet your strategic needs. As experts in coaching and mentoring, this is a core competence for us.

Once we have understood your strategy, we will then be in a position to adjust our delivery approach (for in house programmes only) to ensure the Coaching Professional programme is developing the right set of skills, tools and techniques in your coaches. For example, if your organisation plans to use the internal coaching pool to help your future leaders’ transition more effectively in your organisation, then we will include specific content on transition coaching to ensure your internal coaches have the capability to effectively support this strategic goal.

Once the delivery approach and strategic focus is agreed, we then work with you to identify the best fit employees to become part of your coaching pool. We work with each apprentice to ensure they understand the required commitment and assess their coaching capability. We adjust our delivery approach by enrolling them on an appropriately tailored programme to ensure no overlap in skill development.

Our programme

Our Coaching Professional Apprenticeship is a blended learning programme delivered through virtual modules that map against the 9 duties outlined in the Coaching Professional Standard.

We offer a fully remote programme delivered both on an open enrolment basis to mixed groups, ideal for small organisations and/or single learners. Or we can deliver programmes in-house for larger organisations, who have 6 or more delegates, allowing us to partner with the client to manage the programme to meet their organisational needs and select their own start date.

The programme is delivered through a mixture of live facilitated webinars, 1-1 and group work with a professional Coach-Mentor Supervisor, e-Learning, online and off-line activities including case studies and a coaching journal, and contracted coaching relationships with real clients, ideally a mix of internal and external.

On successful completion of our Apprenticeship, the learner will hold a Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship and a European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) European Quality Award (EQA) at Practitioner level. As a premium provider for the EMCC, we are able to add additional professional individual accreditation (EIA) to this programme if required at a small additional cost.
